Poha Recipe Poha is very easy to make, it is ready in a jiffy. Although poha is very famous in Maharashtra, but if you want to eat something light for breakfast, then you can definitely try this healthy meal prepared in onions, tomatoes, green chillies, lemon and curry leaves. Ingredients for making Poha: If you want to eat something healthy and light in breakfast, then Poha is a great option for that. Poha prepared by adding onion, tomato, green chili, lemon juice is very easy to make, which can be easily prepared and eaten at home anytime. You can add coriander and salt.


Ingredients of Poha 

  • 1 cup Poha 
  • 1 tbsp Oil 
  • 1/8 tsp Asafoetida 
  • 1 tsp Mustard 
  • 1/2 cup Onion, finely chopped 
  • 8-10 curry leaves 
  • 2-3 whole red chillies
  • 1/2 cup Potato, finely chopped
  •  1/2 tsp Turmeric 
  • 2 or as per taste Tea 
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 1 tsp green chillies, finely chopped
  •  1 tbsp lemon juice 
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves (for garnishing)

How to make Poha

  1.  Put the poha in the sieve and clean it with water. Keep in mind, do not soak the poha in water for a long time. So let it remain in the sieve.
  2.  Put oil in a pan. Add asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves, onions and whole red chillies to it. 
  3. When the onions become light golden in color, then add potatoes to it. When the potatoes become light golden in color, then add turmeric to it
  4.  Fry the potatoes on low flame. Keep in mind, the potatoes should be cooked completely. 
  5. Now increase the flame. Add salt and poha to it and mix well. Fry lightly.
  6.  Switch off the flame and add green chili, lemon juice and half green coriander to it. 
  7. Take out in a bowl and serve garnished with remaining green coriander and lemon peel.


Recipe Note

 You can also use onions and peanuts in the poha if you want.
