If you’ve ever eaten at Cracker Barrel, you’ve probably tried their delicious hash brown casserole! Whether with a pile of bacon and eggs or chicken fried steak, this casserole  is simply  perfection.. It's salty, creamy, cheesy, and  features a  perfectly crunchy edge. Top it with  a touch  fresh chopped parsley for shine, and  you've got  a lovely side dish for any brunch or Sunday dinner.  you'll  even eat a big bowl on its own,  it is so  delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds frozen hash browns
  • 2 ounces (4 tablespoons) salted butter, melted
  • 1 (10.25 ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 pint plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley, garnish


This dish is such a crowd-pleaser, grown-ups  and youngsters  alike will want seconds.  you'll  also want to lick the entire casserole dish clean.


It also freezes  rather well .  you'll  make it ahead of time and refrigerate it overnight or keep it in the freezer for up to three months until you're ready to bake and serve it! It's perfect for your Easter brunch or dinner,  because it  pairs well with baked ham.  roll in the hay  ahead of time, and have a stress-free day!


Steps  to form  it


 01. Gather your materials. and Set Preheat the oven to 350 F.

02. Finely chop the onion, then melt the butter  within the  microwave. Allow the butter  to chill  slightly

03. In a large bowl, whisk together onion,  cheddar  Soup,  cheddar , yogurt,  chicken stock  and melted butter. Mix until well blended  and every one  ingredients are evenly distributed.

04. Carefully turn the cut potatoes over,  and blend  until the potatoes are completely covered in the cheese mixture.


05. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with cooking liquid or butter, then pour the potato mixture into the prepared dish. Now bake  within the  oven buy now  , covered, for 45 minutes, until the casserole is bubbling and browned on top..

06. Garnish with some fresh chopped parsley, chop and serve immediately.  you'll  also serve it at room temperature.  this is often  a great recipe for potlucks!



Glass Bakeware Alert

For pre-made casseroles or leftovers that are  during a  glass baking dish and have been refrigerated Buy Now,  don't  place directly in a hot oven buy now as the glass may break. Instead, place any cold glass bakeware  during a  cold oven to preheat. Or, let the bakeware rest outside the fridge for  half-hour  to reach room temperature while the oven preheats.


Shift

Bacon: Add pieces of cooked bacon to the casserole and add more when it comes out of the oven.

Pickled Jalapeno: Add a tablespoon of  sauce  as well as a chopped jalapeno to the mix. When it comes out of the oven, garnish it with  some  more chopped jalapenos.

Smoky Sausage: Add 1 Tbsp smoked paprika and 1 pound cooked, chopped kielbasa sausage.

Cheesy Broccoli: Add 2 cups cooked, chopped broccoli for a nutritional boost.
