Christmas Cake 

  • All purpose flour - 250 grams,
  • Glace cherries - 150 grams,
  • Dark brown sugar - 200 grams,
  • White butter - 200 grams,
  • Dry fruits - 250 grams,
  • Marmalade - 100 grams,
  • Egg - 04 nos.,
  • Brandy - 05 tbsp (as desired),
  • Sugar syrup - 02 tbsp,
  • Cinnamon powder - 1/2 tsp,
  • Vanilla essence - 1/4 tsp,
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp / as per taste.



To decorate the cake:


  • Marzipan - 200 grams,
  • Icing sugar - 50 g (sieved),
  • Apple jam - 03 tbsp,
  • Lemon juice - 01 tbsp.


How to Make Christmas Cake


For the Christmas Cake Recipe, first sieve all purpose flour in a big bowl. Then add cinnamon powder, butter and sugar and beat it.


After this add the sugar syrup, marmalade and vanilla essence and beat until the mixture becomes fluffy. After whisking the mixture, add eggs and half the dry fruits and once again beat lightly.


Now preheat the oven to 150 C. While the oven is heating up, place baking paper on and around the bottom surface of the cake pan.


After this, pour the cake mixture into the pot. Now put the cake utensil in the oven and bake for 02 hours. (Keep looking after taking out the cake once or twice in between).


After baking, take out the cake and try to insert a knife into it. If the cake sticks to the knife, it means that the cake is not fully baked yet. In this condition, bake it again for 20 minutes.


If the cake is completely baked, put it in the open and let it cool. After cooling, make some holes in the cake with the help of a knife and fill them with brandy. After that take out the cake in a plate.


After this, sprinkle icing sugar on top of the cake by applying nuts. Then with the help of a knife apply apple jam all around. After that make a coating of margarine and sprinkle lemon juice on top.
