Ingredients Required : Hyderabadi Biryani


  • Basmati rice - 200 grams (soaked for 1/2 hour),
  • Chicken - 700 grams,
  • Onion - 01 nos (chopped),
  • Coriander leaf - 1/2 cup (chopped),
  • Mint - 02 tbsp
  • Saffron - 01 tsp,
  • Milk - 1/2 cup,
  • Ghee - 02 tsp,
  • Oil - 05 tsp,
  • Cloves - 03 nos.,
  • Cinnamon stick - 02 inch piece,
  • Cardamom - 03 nos.,
  • Black pepper - 08 nos.,
  • Salt - as per taste.


Ingredients for Marinating:


  • Curd - 1/2 cup,
  • Green chilli - 05 (cut in the middle),
  • Ginger garlic pest - 01 tsp,
  • Chilli powder - 01 tsp,
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp,
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp,
  • Coriander leaf - 1/2 cup (finely chopped),
  • Mint leaf - 1/2 cup (chopped),
  • Lemon juice - 02 teaspoons,
  • Salt - as per taste.

How to make Hyderabadi Biryani


For Dum Biryani Recipe in Hindi, first wash the chicken thoroughly. After this, mix all the marinated ingredients together and wrap the chicken pieces well in it and keep it for 4-5 hours to marinate.


Now wash the soaked rice and boil it after adding enough water. When 2/3 of the rice is cooked, take them off. If there is water left in the rice, drain it.


Now heat a spoonful of ghee in a pan. Add cloves, bay leaves, mint and salt to it and stir it lightly and add rice. Fry the rice on medium flame for 2 minutes while stirring. After that take them off the gas and keep them aside.


Now take milk in a bowl and soak saffron in it. Heat a teaspoon of oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, add onion and fry it. Take it off and keep it aside.


Now heat the remaining oil in a heavy bottomed cooker and fry the marinated chicken pieces. This Part Chicken Dum Biryani Recipe is an important part, so do it carefully. Keep the fried chicken pieces aside.


Now spread a layer of half the rice and the remaining ghee in the same cooker. Put fried chicken, roasted onions, remaining spices, green coriander and saffron milk on top and put a layer of rice on top.


Now close the lid of the cooker and cook on low flame for 20 minutes. After that switch off the gas.
